Install it in a minute.

  1. Open the installer

Double-click Cappture-Setup.exe in your Downloads. It installs for you alone, with no administrator password.

  2. If Windows stops it, choose Run anyway

Cappture isn’t signed for Windows yet, so SmartScreen may say “Windows protected your PC”. Choose More info, then Run anyway. It only asks the first time.

  3. Open Cappture

From the Start menu, once the installer finishes.

Or from PowerShell

Downloads the installer and opens it.

No installer? The .zip runs from any folder. Every Windows build is on Releases.

The Mac app, on Windows.

Cappture for Windows 2.0 is written for Windows itself, in C# and WinUI 3, and made to look and work like the Mac app: the same pages, the same look, and the same names for your files.

  • The camera

As the Mac has it: Time Lapse, Slo-Mo, Photo, Ask, Portrait, Video and Cinematic, with 18 photographic styles and a strip of effects. Ask about what it sees, then follow up.

  • Green Screen and lighting

Stand in front of another place, a blur, or a photo or a looping video of your own, as a presenter, a reaction or anywhere you like; light yourself like a studio, or let Reactions go behind you, all worked out on your PC.

  • Screenshots

A region (taken when you let go), a window, the whole screen or a self-timer, then the card in the corner with Copy, Save, Pin, Annotate and Cloud; a pin stays over your work.

  • Scrolling capture

Drag a region, press Start and scroll: what scrolled past is stitched into one tall picture.

  • Measure and Capture Text

Ctrl+Alt+1 measures the distances on the screen; Ctrl+Alt+2 puts the text you drag over on the clipboard.

  • Screen recording

A region, a window or the whole screen, with your microphone, the PC’s own sound or both, your face in a bubble, as a video or a GIF, from 480p to 8K.

  • The recording editor

The cursor’s size and style, zooms you move on a timeline, and a background with padding, corners and a shadow; or a quick trim from the card after a recording.

  • The Editor

The multi-track Editor, which opens the Mac’s projects and saves them the same way, then exports an MP4 (H.264 or HEVC) or an M4A.

  • In your language

All 20 of the Mac app’s languages, right to left for Arabic, Persian and Urdu, chosen in Settings › General.

  • The Library and the editor

Albums, keywords, Hidden, Recently Deleted, and search by the words in a capture. Adjust, filters, crop, markup, a background and Clean Up, and the annotate window.

  • Audio

Voice memos with trim, transcripts and 18 voice effects, Autotune among them.

  • Cloud and share links

Sealed on your PC exactly as the Mac seals it, so a Mac’s captures open on your PC and yours on the Mac; keep originals here, or keep room. Share links work the same.

  • Integrations and AI

Google Calendar and Drive, Dropbox, Notion, and folders on your drives; your own AI for transcripts and Ask, and Cappture for AI (MCP).

  • Beside the clock

Its runner in the notification area, desktop widgets, the same shortcuts on Ctrl+Alt, and a lock with Windows Hello.

Different on Windows: the Editor exports MP4 or M4A but not ProRes, changing speed there changes the pitch, and a few Windows-only words are still in English. Check for Updates in the app finds each new Windows build.

The same shortcuts.

Ctrl+Alt where the Mac has ⌥⌘, on the same keys. Change any of them in Settings › Shortcuts.

One key, five computers

$19.99 once covers five, Macs and PCs in any mix. A PC takes one of the five seats, and shows as a PC on cloud.getcappture.com.

What it needs

  • Windows 10 (version 2004 or later) or Windows 11, 64-bit. Nothing else to install: it brings its own .NET and Windows App SDK.
  • No administrator password: it installs for you alone.
  • On a Windows N or KN edition, Microsoft’s Media Feature Pack, for recording and the camera. Cappture says so, with a button to Windows’ Settings › Apps › Optional features.

Seven days free, no card. It runs entirely on your Mac.
