Cookies

One cookie, and only if you sign in. That is why there is no banner.

Why you were not asked

Consent banners exist because sites set cookies that track you. This one does not, so there is nothing to ask about. A banner here would be theatre — a click you have to make before reading a page, to agree to something that is not happening.

The one cookie

  • cappture_session — set when you sign in to your licence page, and only then. It holds a random token that tells our server which signed-in session you are. It lasts thirty days, or until you sign out, and it is marked httpOnly, so no script on the page can read it.

Without it you would have to click a link in an email every time you loaded your licence page. It is the definition of strictly necessary, which is why it does not need consent under the UK and EU rules.

What is not here

  • No Google Analytics, or any other analytics.
  • No advertising or retargeting pixels.
  • No social media trackers.
  • No third-party cookies of any kind.

Other things stored in your browser

Your light or dark mode preference is kept in local storage, which is not a cookie and never leaves your browser. It exists so the site does not flash the wrong colour at you on the next visit.

Getting rid of it

Sign out from your licence page and the cookie is cleared and the session deleted on our side too — not just forgotten by your browser. You can also clear cookies for this site in your browser settings at any time; the only consequence is that you will need a fresh sign-in link.
