Releases
Every version.
What changed, when, and the disk image for each one. Homebrew picks up new releases on its own.

The server this app talked to stopped answering on 26 September. Every
report you sent, every transcript, every suggested filename failed — and
each one looked like a bug in that feature rather than an address that no
longer existed.
It talks to a new one now. Nothing about how it works has changed.

30 September 2026 · 10.0 MBDownload 1.73Choosing your iPhone works
Switching to the iPhone did nothing at all. macOS only wakes a Continuity camera when something asks for it, and Cappture looked once — before the phone had appeared.
One camera menu
The two buttons are a single menu listing every camera by name: the Mac's own, any webcam, and any iPhone or iPad. With one camera attached it is just a label.
brew upgrade --cask yusufdiallo1/tap/cappture1.72
30 September 2026 · 9.9 MBDownload 1.72The update offer asks once
It reopened every time you launched the app, for a release you had already been shown. Once per release now — and **Check for Updates** always shows its answer.
Your iPhone says when it connects
A notice over the viewfinder, with the phone's name and a button to switch to it. Not while recording.
Return works on the update sheets
The mode buttons sit on the chrome
The selected mode's pill straddled the edge between the picture and the frosted band.
brew upgrade --cask yusufdiallo1/tap/cappture1.71
30 September 2026 · 9.9 MBDownload 1.71Switching back to the Mac works
With an iPhone connected, tapping **Mac** could do nothing at all. Both directions work now, with the phone left connected.
brew upgrade --cask yusufdiallo1/tap/cappture1.70
30 September 2026 · 9.9 MBDownload 1.70Your iPhone no longer takes over
Connecting an iPhone replaced whatever camera you were using, with no way to get the Mac's camera back that survived a restart.
The Mac's camera stays. The iPhone is offered beside it, and used when you pick it.
brew upgrade --cask yusufdiallo1/tap/cappture1.69
30 September 2026 · 9.9 MBDownload 1.69Burst takes as many as you want
It always gathered 120 frames — four seconds of nearly identical photographs. **Settings › Capture › Burst frames** offers 10 to 120.
The mode names fit
**VIDEO** was cut in half at the right edge in a narrow window.
Upgrading reopens the app
If Cappture was running when you upgrade with Homebrew, it now quits and reopens on the new version instead of leaving the old one running.
brew upgrade --cask yusufdiallo1/tap/cappture1.68
30 September 2026 · 9.9 MBDownload 1.68The window resizes
Cappture opened at one size and stayed there — it could not be made smaller, dragged larger, or taken fullscreen. On a laptop its minimum height was taller than the screen.
It now goes from small to fullscreen.
More room under the shutter
brew upgrade --cask yusufdiallo1/tap/cappture1.67
30 September 2026 · 9.9 MBDownload 1.67The iPhone chip is right now
If an iPhone was the camera in use, Cappture could still show **Mac** — and tapping **iPhone** offered to connect a phone that was already connected.
An iPhone does not always announce itself the way the app expected; it now recognises one however it attaches.
Room at the bottom
The shutter sat against the bottom edge of the window, and the zoom row floated across the controls when the settings sheet was open.
brew install --cask yusufdiallo1/tap/cappture1.66
30 September 2026 · 9.9 MBDownload 1.66The camera chips tell the truth
If an iPhone was in use, the chips still showed **Mac** highlighted — and tapping **iPhone** offered to connect a phone that was already connected. They follow the camera actually running now.
The iPhone help sheet says you are good to go when one is connected, rather than listing five things to check.
Displays have names
The Screen tab listed "Display 1" and "Display 2". It shows what each monitor calls itself, and marks the main one.
Filters moved
They were in the control sheet under a divider. They sit on the row above the shutter now, as a button rather than a grid.
Live Photos is gone
It saved a photo and a separate clip instead of one Live Photo, leaving an unplayable 3KB file beside every capture.
brew install --cask yusufdiallo1/tap/cappture1.65
30 September 2026 · 9.9 MBDownload 1.65Updating waits for you
Pressing **Install Update** quit the app before you could press **Install and Relaunch** — so it vanished, came back, and looked unchanged. It waits for the button now.
If a swap does fail, it writes to `~/Library/Logs/Cappture-update.log` instead of quietly putting the old version back.
Blur can be off
The strength slider started at 2, so the effect could be turned down but never off. It starts at zero now, and Portrait no longer applies it until you ask.
brew install --cask yusufdiallo1/tap/cappture1.64
30 September 2026 · 9.9 MBDownload 1.64Everything says Cappture
The repository, the Homebrew cask and the links inside the app. If you installed under the old name, updates keep arriving — nothing to redo.
The installer window looks right again
The disk image had been opening as two files in a plain window, with none of its layout.
Trimming shows what it keeps
Dragging a trim handle now moves the picture with it, instead of leaving you to guess and play back.
Cropping has a grid
Rule-of-thirds lines while you choose a ratio.
brew install --cask yusufdiallo1/tap/cappture1.63
30 September 2026 · 9.9 MBDownload 1.63Updates install themselves again
Renaming the app broke self-updating for every copy already installed — the update would download, then hand you a disk image to drag instead of installing.
Fixed on the image itself, so copies running older versions are repaired too.
The update prompt appears on its own
A new release could sit unnoticed until you went looking in Settings.
brew upgrade --cask yusufdiallo1/tap/cappture
